Freakin' Sharks!

I'm probably going to come off as a little kid by posting this but who cares. I love Shark Week on the Discovery Channel.

Last Saturday, I went to see Step Brother which is about 2 old guys that still live with their parents. There was one scene where they were watching television and their father came into the room and turned off the TV and grounded them with no television. Will Farrell's character said "But it's Shark Week!" and I could totally relate to his pain.

Ever since I was a kid, I loved watching animal centric television shows. No, I don't mean Lassie or Alvin and the Chipmunks. I mean television shows like Steve Irwin's Crocodile Hunter (may God rest his soul), Wild America, and Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. These shows would mesmerize me and that continues to this day.

Everyday this week, I have set my DVR to record every Shark Week show on the Discovery Channel. When I get home from work, I plop on the couch and watch all night long. Unfortunately some of the shows are rehashes of last Shark Week but are still interesting to watch.

I know I can't be the only guy out there that thinks Shark Week is uber cool. These animals scare the crap out of me and I hope I never encounter one face to teeth but I do admire them. The Great White is especially impressive. It's an eating machine ideally designed to hunt and kill in it's environment. You gotta respect the sheer power of these animals.

We fell asleep watching shark week last night. Very interesting stuff.
Although I though it was more interesting how a bunch of scientists were overly enthused to watch some footage of a tigershark with a camera on its fin...It just looked like dark blue murky water to me.
"My head is like a sharks fin." Ever see that movie with LL cool J.. ahhaha blue sea or deep blue sea or something...oh lame.
